FAMILY heirlooms at home such as paintings on the wall, an old piano, sculptures and even classic cars are not unusual in Filipino culture. There are a lot of stories to tell about their family’s legacies and traditions. However, no aged photograph can convey a family’s commitment and success as well as timeless collections or thriving business ventures.

Ayala Land Premier, which is Ayala Land’s first full-line developer of premium residential developments, not only believes this but has also dedicated itself to promote a legacy through its property developments. The idea of passing on something of great value and worth underscores the development of suburban environments as well as building high-rise condominiums that transform skylines and lifestyles within a live-work-play environment that was once a grassland.

“It is a perfect timing for us to work together and celebrate with some of the country’s most reputable families that have not only built legacies, but also inspired us to continue our task of developing distinctive communities that complement their lifestyles,” noted Jose Juan Jugo, head of Ayala Land Premier.

As a celebration of passion and commitment, Ayala Land Premier partnered with Lifestyle Asia to stage an exhibit entitled Luminous: Legacy in the Limelight. On the cover of the magazine are some of the Philippines’s distinguished families, such as Wellington Soong, president and chairman of Autostrada Motore Inc.—distributors of Jaguar, Ferrari, Maserati, Range Rover and Land Rover, and his sons Marc and Jason; Pablito and Carlo Calma, father and son, as well as engineer and architectural design consultant of Multi Development and Construction Corp. (MDCC), respectively; Ramon “RJ” Jacinto, founder of radio station DZRJ and owner of RJ Guitar Center, Bistro RJ and Jacinto Color, his business and life partner Frannie and daughter Natalia.

Selected heirlooms from their families, which hold special significance in their lives, went on display at the Ayala Museum on August 29. The Soongs exhibited their 1971 Jaguar E-Type and 1965 Sunbeam Alpine two-seater cabriolet, which is identical to the car used by James Bond in the 1962 film Dr. No. The Jacintos displayed an antique Kawai piano—purchased by RJ’s parents when they were doing business with the Japanese. They also displayed a bronze bust of Fernando Jacinto, which was crafted by a Japanese artist in the 1960s, and a giant family portrait by Fernando Amorsolo depicting the Jacintos with their eight children. The Calmas displayed their Black Glass Orlina sculpture.

May Rodriguez, head of Project Development of Ayala Land Premier, said, “These are, in fact, strongly anchored on our developments in Nuvali, where communities are built with the family in mind. Making a strong statement is our fifth and newest development in Nuvali, which is Luscara—a 50-hectare residential community that is geared to uphold a living experience that will nurture a family for generations.”

Weaving into Nuvali’s lush expanse, Luscara embraces the natural gardens in its setting, giving its future residents a refreshing community where every generation will flourish. Thoughtfully carved into 36 pocket neighborhoods, each living enclave will offer a sense of place and space for its residents. Every home will be provided with its own garden courtyards which can serve as personal recreation areas ideal for family cookouts, gardening, or simply a private haven where they can sit and relax with their loved ones.

Various amenities catering to different activities are also incorporated in Luscara’s overall blueprint—a social hall, a multipurpose court, a fitness gym and a swimming pool, to name a few, encouraging community engagement with others. To ensure ease of traffic and secure pedestrian safety, Luscara has designed road networks to provide lanes for cars, bikes, and sidewalks for residents and guests.

The development is conveniently located near the urban activities of Nuvali, where greeneries also abound. Easily accessible via the South Luzon Expressway through the Mamplasan or Santa Rosa exit, Luscara provides quick access to schools, leisure centers and other establishments in the burgeoning township, as well as to the business districts of Alabang and Makati.

Luscara stands as a fulfilled promise for families of today and well into the future—a testament to Ayala Land’s long-standing commitment to enriching lives through enhancing land.
