The Seda Nuvali Hotel, owned by AyalaLand Hotels and Resorts Corp. (AHRC), recently received a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification, the first Philippine hotel to be awarded this distinction in its category by the highly credible US Green Building Council.
The LEED is globally recognized as an independent third party certification program that ascertains a structure’s compliance with widely accepted green building design, construction and operation standards and guidelines.
Seda Nuvali’s landscaped lake provides a visual centerpiece within the Ayala Land-developed community in Santa Rosa, Laguna. Its guest rooms look out to this body of water or the tranquil countryside with Mt. Makiling at the distance.

Al Legaspi, president of Seda hotels and chief operating officer of AHRC, said: “We’re greatly pleased that Seda Nuvali has exceeded benchmarks set by the US Green Building Council. The hotel’s highly efficient heating and air-conditioning systems, energy-saving lighting system and low-flow water fixtures considerably reduce its impact on the environment and minimize its carbon footprint.”
He recalled that Seda Nuvali contractor Makati Development Corporation and ecoSolutions, its lead mechanical and electrical consultant, collaborated to ensure that construction procedures would minimize wastage and would limit disturbing the site. Moreover, they closely coordinated to ensure that materials procured were on the highest quality and that the workers observed safety procedures during construction.
Compliance with these procedures mean not only the responsible and efficient use of resources but also benefit guests and employees by ascertaining indoor environmental quality and greater thermal comfort.
Legaspi further noted that the Nuvali site is the first Seda hotel to integrate into its design the lake at its backyard. A game room and children’s playroom unique to Seda Nuvali open out to the four-hectare water feature.
