Ayala Land expands outside Metro Manila

Ayala Land Inc. is expanding outside Metro Manila, launching the Avida Towers Cebu – its first residential condominium project in the Visayas.

Avida Land Inc., Ayala Land’s wholly owned subsidiary for affordable housing, has the twin-tower development in a 6,262-square-meter property inside Cebu City’s Asiatown IT Park.

Ayala Land said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange Tuesday that the Avida Land would be offering one- and two-bedroom units in the first tower, starting at P1.6 million per unit.

“Ayala Land’s expansion in the Vis-Min area is part of the company’s strategy to significantly increase its presence in various growth centers and reach out to a greater number of Filipinos across the country,” the company said.

“Future Ayala Land developments in the region will include malls, hotels, BPO office buildings and other residential developments,” the company said. —VS, GMANews.TV

Connections that support evoliving
(The Philippine Star) Updated June 04, 2010 12:00 AM

MANILA, Philippines – As a testament to its commitment to enhance the lives of Filipinos, Ayala Land, the innovator in real estate development, recently engaged the services of Globe Business to install, operate and maintain the telecommunication system and the telecommunication requirements of prospective residents and business owners of the 1,840-hectare mixed-use eco-community development in Laguna, NUVALI.

NUVALI is a master planned eco-community development that combines green building technology with sustainable architecture and construction. It espouses “Evoliving”, which is the seamless weaving of life, nature and technology for a healthier and less stressful kind of life where people and nature thrive in harmony.

Apart from the initial six residential projects, NUVALI boasts a well-designed commercial and business district development called the Lakeside Evozone which has been declared a special economic zone by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).  It has facilities and infrastructure that include the lakeside retail center Solenad and NUVALI’s first BPO building, One Evotech.  The Lakeside Evozone will be a key component of the approximately 200 hectares of commercial and business district that will rise in NUVALI as the main regional center south of Makati.

The forged partnership between Ayala Land and Globe Business assures residents and business locators of NUVALI with seamless and reliable voice and broadband connectivity as well as multiple lines for high-speed data communication within and outside their community.

Globe Business, the corporate arm of Globe Telecom and a full service Information Communications Technology (ICT) provider, continues to engage its partners in the real estate industry by continuously introducing products and services that support their noteworthy goals for the Filipino family

Henry Sy Foundation Supports XS Nuvali

Source: Xavier Bulletin

Xavier School is pleased to announce that the Henry Sy family has formalized its support for Xavier School Nuvali.  The Henry Sy Foundation signed the Deed of Donation with Xavier School last May 11, 2010 at SM Mall of Asia, to support the school’s new campus.

The foundation will underwrite the construction of the primary school building, one of three main facilities scheduled in the first phase of development. The deed was signed by Fr. Ismael Zuloaga, SJ, chairman of Xavier School, and witnessed by Amb. Bienvenido Tan, Jr., chairman emeritus. Representing the Sy Foundation were Hans Sy and family patriarch, Henry Sy, Sr., who turned over the initial donation.

The building, which will be named the Henry Sy Primary School Building, will start construction in June and will be completed in time for the school opening in June 2012. Xavier School Nuvali will be administered by Xavier School (San Juan) and will offer the same Xavier education, designed as a college preparatory curriculum with a core Chinese studies program.

However, the new school will be open to both boys and girls, and will maintain a scholarship level of 25% of its student population. The new campus will rise on a 15-hectare property situated in the heart of Nuvali, an eco-community development in Sta. Rosa/Calamba, Laguna. Aligned with the vision of Nuvali, the school campus is being developed to adhere to principles of sustainability, adopting green design and technology.

The dinner,  held at the the Hong Kong Emperor in Mall of Asia, was hosted by Henry Sy and his wife, together with their children, Hans, Herbert, Harley, and Tessie Coson. Joining Fr. Zuloaga and Amb. Tan were Fr. Maximo Barbero, SJ, alumni members of the Board of Trustees and alumni from the Class of 73.

All the sons of Henry Sy, Sr. were educated in Xavier School: Henry, Jr. (Batch ‘70), Hans (Batch ’73), Herbert (Batch ‘75) and Harley (Batch ‘76). Hans Sy currently sits on the board of trustees of the Xavier School Educational and Trust Fund.

RP bets top Nuvali duathlon

Robeno Javier barely won over Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Ryan Mendoza while national cyclist Marites Bitbit dominated her rivals in the opening leg of the Columbia Trailmasters Duathlon held at the Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, last Sunday.

Javier won the 40-kilometer run-bike-run contest in one hour, 46 minutes and 14 seconds to bag P20,000 in cash and gift certificates.

Mendoza checked in five seconds later.

“I jumped at the chance to beat Ryan when I saw him slow down,” said the 24-year-old Pangasinense who placed sixth in the recent Mekong ITU Duathlon Series in Thailand.

The 31-year-old Mendoza settled for P8,000. Roldan Antonio (1:48.21) won P6,000 for placing third.

Bitbit banked on her cycling prowess in the 30-K bike stage to handily cop the women’s title, crossing the finish line in 2:00.26.

Mirasol Abad (2:11.51) and Bing Alto (2:15.06) placed second and third, respectively. Romina S. Austria
