See how wide the roads are in Abrio. Note: Use the man in white as referrence of size/dimension. That guy is at least 5″7″ in height. And notice also that there’s a big tree island in the middle. Well, Abrio isnt called Abrio (Abrir in spanish means ‘to open’) for nothing. =)

Hello Ayala Land followers,

Last Sunday was a blast! The Nuvali Launching was a success! A lot of people (shakers, movers, innovators, lot-owners, etc) went to the event.

Congratulations to all Abrio and Montecito lot owners. What did I tell you before? Trust us. What we promise, we deliver – crisis or no crisis. Now that, I’m proud to say, is commitment.

Lake at the other end. See the building from a distance? That’s the One Evotech Bldg… Convergys now has a branch there. Lucky agents. hehehe. Working in a nice place + overlooking a nice lake = Nice job. And do you know the Evotech bldg has bike ramps that goes all the way to the uppermost floor? That means, agents can bike their way from house to work literally!

Of course, there was a concert too. This was held inside a huge air-conditioned tent. Artists like Agot Isidro, Bituin Escalante, Paolo Valenciano, and other performers entertained the Nuvali crowd.

Ayala Land says SM mall project to complement Global City devt

SETTING aside competition, the Philippines’ largest property developer Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) considers the planned shopping mall development of the SM group in Taguig City as complementary to existing projects in the posh site. 

“With SM, we’ve always found that when we are there together, it actually increases traffic in the whole area,” said former ALI president and now Ayala Corp. senior managing director Jaime Ayala in an interview with the BusinessMirror. 

Since Fort Bonifacio is a new area and an emerging location for residential developments, business establishments and entertainment venues, he said the entry of SM will further promote land values, especially within the Bonifacio Global City where ALI owns a vast landbank. 

The BusinessMirror earlier reported the plan of the Sy-led SM group to build a P2-billion shopping center in Taguig City by the end of the year.

To be undertaken by its mall development arm SM Prime Holdings Inc., the mall will be a part of a commercial complex envisioned to rise in a sprawling property owned by the Taguig government. 

The shopping center alone will occupy around 1.8 hectares. A hotel, to be developed by another entity, would also be built within the complex.

“SM is leasing the property from the Taguig government for 25 years,” the source said. 

The design of the shopping center is still being finalized but the source said it would more or less cater to the upper market because of its proximity to ALI’s residential and commercial developments Serendra and Bonifacio High Street. Meanwhile, ALI’s mall development Market! Market! mostly attracts low- to middle-income customers. 

“We expect to complete the shopping center by 2011,” added the source.

Last Holy Weekend, I went to Anvaya Cove and tried their Nature Trail. We started near the casitas or lagoon suites, and after 3 hours, ended up in the View Deck. Here are some photos:

Ayala Group sticks to growing current businesses

In the seemingly ongoing race to the top in terms of scale of operations and profitability, the Ayala Group, unlike other corporate giants, prefers to focus its current business strategy on organic growth.

Ayala Corp, the holding company for the group’s diversified interests, has no plans for major acquisitions at the moment, but is keeping a “wide lens” to see opportunities on the horizon, its chairman and chief executive officer Jaime Zobel de Ayala said in a media briefing on Friday.

“We do look at other areas, but there’s nothing definite or specific at this point,” said Zobel.

Ayala Corp. has long been a prime mover in Philippine business and enjoyed the title of being the country’s largest conglomerate for a time.

Ayala Land firms up plans for Makati’s leisure hub

MANILA, Philippines – Property giant Ayala Land Inc. will be spending billions in pesos for the facelift of Ayala Center, which serves as the retail and leisure center of Makati, the Philippines’ premier business district. 

Besides spending P7.2 billion for Glorietta 1 and 2 redevelopment, Ayala Land will also put up a four-star businessman’s hotel, a company executive said. 

Redevelopment will begin with the demolition and excavation of the current location of Glorietta 1 and 2, Maria Victoria Anonuevo, group head for both Ayala Land Businesscapes and Ayala Malls, said. 

Proposed plans for the locations include office building development and the construction of 350-room four-star businessman’s hotel on top of the mall.
